You took warmth
from the bodies 'beneath' you,
wrapped it around yourself,
always spiraling
with your tropical air,
leaving the room cold in your wake.
You built a stadium
in honor of your own game,
that you watch with one open eye,
cheering your own madness,
and yet never satisfied.
Not even when you uproot islands,
nor control the tides.
You feast upon destruction,
craving more carnage,
powerless in your uncontrolled rage,
until at last
you die.

Wonderful description of a devastatingly beautiful but destructive act of nature. I love it.
I agree with Bolt, the photo is the perfect springboard for beautiful poetry. I love how one can expand beyond nature and find a pathway to our sometimes inhumane human condition.
This is great. That amazing photo is the perfect springboard for beautiful poetry. ⚡️💙 Bill⚡️
