Unreliable Authors

Hunts, hurts and healing

Howling out in the rain

Intentionally concealing

Masking both sides of the pain

Searching for the devil

In the back seat of the church

Prey and predator, evil

Feeding desire and urge

Preparing your armor

Saving your face

Salvation and harm are

Kept in the same place

The heart of the hunter

An unreliable author

A full blaze in a dumpster

With no water to offer

Hungry for the chase

Being stalked by the hunted

Getting in your headspace

When your fears are confronted

At peace in the wild

No regard for consequences

Running free like a child

Jumping hearts and old fences

At the end of the hunt

Hanging out, in the trees

Are just the remnants of

Parts of both sides of me

surreal poetry

I think we are all hunters and prey one way or another. Good job.

Powerful and fierce. The hunt becomes both wound and cure. Stunning imagery.

Nice! This is the first one I read for that challenge. Clever rhymes and flow throughout! Great work!
