See the hunter upon his steed,

with hungry heart and mind?

He sees the land, its wants and needs,

laid out in God's design.

See the hunter track his prey,

with tranquil skill and fervor?

Speed will not win him the day,

and sounds, he knows, unnerve her.

See the prey tease the hunter?

She knows she must be smart.

He cannot afford this blunder,

she must protect her heart.

See the hunter look too proud,

watching his prey from afar?

He’s counted his victory aloud

but has not made the scar.

See the hunters arrow fly?

The prey bolts over the ground.

The hunter yells into the sky,

for his victory was not found.

See his prey break out and free?

For the hunter did not account,

that she was smarter than he.

And now he is without.
