HOW TO WRITE A POEM

1) Slowly and mindlessly deconstruct your life in the most damaging way possible for you and those around you

2) Rip open your chest and turn yourself inside out relentlessly, until you become a walking wound overthinking every decision you've ever made, or not made

3) Refuse in abject defiance to heal or be healed because somehow in your mind the pain of suffering is penance for the chaos you've caused

4) Fester just long enough till you're on the cusp of tearing through your grief and tell yourself that nothing you've been through could have been avoided and that the pain of suffering is food for the creative soul

5) Pick up a pen....
