How the Heart Remembers
A Poem About Love's Echo in Time

How the Heart Remembers
How does the heart recall the sound
of laughter lost, of love unbound?
Not with the mind, not through the years,
but with the soul, and silent tears.
It holds the weight of every glance,
each fleeting smile, each lost romance.
The brush of hands in passing light,
the way you breathed beneath the night.
Time fades the voice, the scent, the face,
yet memory clings in soft embrace.
A whisper echoes through the air,
though you're not here, I feel you there.
The seasons shift, the skies will turn,
but hearts remember what they yearn.
In dreams, your shadow walks with mine,
in dusk’s last gold, your eyes still shine.
You are the page I read again,
the ache that sweetly feels like rain.
No clock can touch the way it stays—
this love we wove in distant days.
So ask me how a heart still knows—
It’s in the way the wild rose grows.
It’s in the hush of evening’s close...
In all the places silence goes.
Love lingers where silence speaks, in echoes the heart remembers.
