How I songwrite

How I songwrite

By Claire SeymourPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Emotions go brazy,

When you really get into it.

I like the way I never feel one at once,

Well, like is a little strong-

I’m intrigued

I like to whirl up fantasy emotions

Like fucking spin art

I’ll take blue and I’ll take red and I’ll take yellow,

And I can’t tell you I’ll make a color you’ve never seen before

(That’s impossible- science and shit)

But I’ll make one hell of a piece

And I’ll be damn sure you’ve never seen that exact canvas

With those exact colors,

In those exact places

Science was my favorite subject in 3rd grade so I know a lot about it and,

It is impossible

To have two spin arts be exactly the same

So I’m not really fabricating a whole new emotion per se,

I won’t give it a name

But I will take a whole bunch of materials you’ve experienced before-

Happiness, anger, relief

And I’ll explore what it feels like to be all of those at once

An emotion that goes beyond just a single word descriptor

An emotion too complex for words to really describe

Not a new color,

But a new way of seeing them

Not a new emotion,

But a new way of feeling

art
