How else?

The Weight of Being Carried

Effort means nothing

when the impact is overlooked

by eyes that only demand more.

Getting close feels impossible

when quitting flirts with your thoughts.

Adjusting becomes pointless

if every turn demands another change

just to fit.

Those used to being carried

always ask for more —

simply because they don’t understand

how heavy they really are.

Once they walk on their own,

they’ll wonder why carrying them

was “too much”

instead of appreciating

how far they were brought.

Everyone must be accountable.

But when those who remain beside you

in times of no benefit

are still accused of not doing enough,

the helping hand grows weak.

Pressure forces a choice:

grow

or quit.

And when effort is taken for granted,

the how else effect begins.
