How Déjà Vu Caught Déjà Vu and Derailed My Memoir...

Still spraying disinfectant for all the good it'll do

Been here before

but hate it no less,

for it hurts as it draws

through blood and brokenness,

plus a litany of hellstones

that didn’t

survive my memoir draft.

Morose moments

turned marathon derby

of every bend in brain where I deluded myself

that a few penned lines

might make for engaging prose,

or

by some wild stretch of grammar

the odd life experience

might cross over threshold

of

less interest

to

more potential for intrigue

once elementals coalesced,

once intentions became clear,

once successive chapters signposted a heretic

not a heroine.

But I’ve been in this thought-place before

that…

…aren’t they the same thing

to bring a much-needed

atypical template to a life?

Such supreme antithesis of the incomprehensible

without her/him/you in it...innit?

But hey,

been here before…

Thank you kindly for reading my ramblings!

Now I wanna do some abstract drawings and get frustrated if they're not 'perfection' in like, an hour...

OMG, you too???

This feels and reads like a path I've took. Where I overthink. I go to my past to see if there's anything good back there to write about. But sometimes it feels like grasping for the wind. All thoughts dissolve and I am left in the clouds somewhere without mind or words. This was outstanding and sadly, deeply relatable. 🤗❤️🖤 👌🏾

This was such a fun, relatable read. Been there more times than I can count!

  • Nothing I do is perfect and I am easily derailed but you got a poem out of this s o it worked

  • But that's the thing about abstract drawings ain't it? That they can be perfect although they're incomplete or whatever they are. But, I'm a perfectionist and I totally understand what you mean hahaha. Sending you lots of love and hugs ❤️ Loved your poem!
