Many nights I laid awake
Because I could not sleep
And these feelings I tried,
But I could not shake

I had to cry myself to sleep
So, that I could have some relief
From the pain and the hurt,
The heartache and the heartbreak
You do not know the hell you put me through
You do not even understand that you are still putting me through it,
You are pushing me away
Are you not afraid you are going to lose me one day?
Whenever we feel distant,
Whenever we fight,

All you think about is you

Day 4 of Quitting
If this is how sobriety feels, maybe it’s better to go through life a little buzzed… this, along with other hits like, I want to kill myself, I wish I was dead, and I’m going to throw myself off a bridge have been the only thoughts on rotation these past few days. I promise myself that if, in a month, I still feel like this (‘this’ meaning despondent, full of rage, and simultaneously numb) I can go back to smoking. Until mid-February though? Nicotine is off the table.
