Hope Survives

Agony Endures Pain

By Carolann DowsettPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

Agony endures pain as life slips away, so sad to see one so full of light, lost in such a way

But the hater’s hated and the demon’s played, until nothing was left, just loss and decay

I am empty now, nothing remains, you have hit your mark, caused too much pain

Why should I stay in a world so cruel, where there is no set limits and no real rules

The time to give up has finally come, the cold has set in, my heart has gone numb

Time to disappear, just fade away, escape from vicious souls and the games they play

Emotional vampires, feed off my pain, sucking the life from my veins

But life has a way of holding on and for those I love, I need to be strong

So I guess I'll continue, to fight for my life, for even in darkness, there is a trace of light

Even in the blackest despair, hope survives, it is an eternal spark that never dies, a beautiful promise, that keeps us alive

sad poetry
