Homecoming

- From the Sea to Your Shore

By Dawnxisoul393artPublished about a year ago 1 min read

In my youth

the call of the sea was all-consuming

Its promise of adventure

and boundless freedom, alluring

But then I met you

and everything changed in an instant

For your radiant light

made the shore my new destination

Through the winding path of life

I found my way back to your side

And as we sat upon the rocks

the gentle waves did gently glide

Your beauty, illuminated

by the sea's eternal grace

Took my breath away

leaving me in a state of joyous embrace

In a moment of whimsy

I traced your name in the sand

Watching as the waves swept it away

yet still, I understand

For though the sea erased the letters

I had so carefully penned

Your name remained forever etched

in my heart, without end

No longer did I yearn

for the open waters and their call

For in your loving presence

I had found my home, my all

The shore, once a mere backdrop

now a sanctuary so dear

Where I could bask in our love

free from doubt or fear

So let the waves

continue their endless ebb and flow

For in your arms, my darling

I've found the peace I sought to know

This gentle coastline

our eternal, hallowed ground

Where our love's timeless melody

forever shall resound
