Home With Nature
My home is my truth and my truth is freedom
I walked towards her
The thought of her freedom
Called me home
I want to be free like her
I looked around
Breathed her in
I let her sun rest on my face till it burned
I moved into her shade
Sat by her tree
Walked on her roots
Placed my hands down on her gently
With respect
Asked for healing
Then I slipped off my socks and shoes
Walked in the dew-covered grass
Before I left her
I stood by the water
Of her still mind
She talked to me through poetry
And this is what she said:
She doesn't hold back for anyone
She lets her truths rise
In expression
If they need to rise
This keeps her core pure
This is how she keeps her light
She's never sorry for her expressions
In the form of an unwelcome storm
Or a smile so bright it blinds
She feels how she feels
Her heart beats how it beats
She just wants to breathe and share her beauty
The dark and the light
More incredible for her duality
Everything she creates
Is a miracle
Even that annoying squirrel
She laughs
It's all perfect
Some try to change her landscape
They think only some parts of her are worthy
Only some parts fit
But she will let her weeds out
She knows it all belongs
She knows she's enough
Like a mother
She wants to share
Her heart and her gifts
To nurture and provide
But she will not be disrespected
She is forgiving
But she knows she deserves only love
She will not be denied the love she desires
And she knows she is free
To say it
I came home to her inspiration
When home
I remember
I'm here to be a voice
For freedom
