Home’s here
A poem from me to you, thank you! Home is where the heart is, and your heart is inside of you
They say home is where the heart is
That home is where love lies
A home is family, pets and kids
It’s “home we go” when one dies
They say it’s walls
Maybe brick or mud
Or gate and fence
No wall maybe studs
They say it’s cozy or maybe drafty
But it’s home for me none the less
Perhaps a palace or hotel or yacht
Or forbid you have nothing left
You see, home is a feeling
Signified by a place
Or a person, a memory
Something hard to replace
A safety net of warmth
A contentment state to be
Something every creature
Deserves both land and sea
Home is ours to care for
To protect and caress with love
To stoke the fire within our soul
What gives our dreams a shove
A state of mind that we provide
And something shared to us
A warmth, a calm, a peacefulness
Our planet our bodies are one
No matter what the moment
War, tragedy, loss, or fear
Home is something deep inside
The love we give says “homes here”
