Home for Ocean, Home for River

Home for Water

Home for Ocean, Home for River

Seafoam swirling around my toes

Sea breeze tickling my nose

Every step closer I take,

The sand hugs my feet

It is the saltwater that I greet

The waves meet me like the front door

I close the door behind me and reach for my comfort

Wrapped up in the water

My heart, my love, my home

Like a vast horizon on the eternal tub,

I sink my head and calm with every breath I take

My sisters swim to me

Just as the ocean longs for the river,

My spirit longs for free, for home

The river knocks at the door of my soul

As I open the door,

I am greeted with warm, golden love

Like the treasure map that leads to me,

The water weaves through

I always know I am home

When my eyes, heart and soul

Turn the key

And meet the waters
