Home Again
by Cleve
Such a beast was today,
Thousands of cars got in my way
And made me late
I missed my appointment for an interview, for a job I need
And they refused me another date
I ran out of gas and walked more than a mile
With gas can in my hand
And turned my ankle while walking back
Hobbling back to the car in pain
There were duns in the mail, and calls from
Friends who I promised to repay
And had to tell them to stand in line
And be paid some other day
But once inside our door, this sanctuary
In the arms of loved ones, those who love
Without demand
Hope returns, tomorrow brightens
Because I am home
Home again
