Hollow
For Kayleigh Fraser's "One Of Us" Unofficial Poetry Challenge!

If tomorrow starts without me,
and you're right here taking it all in,
letting your intrusive thoughts win,
and thinking about what it would be like otherwise,
I'll let you know that you got me.
Right there in that intrusive thought,
in the air you breathe in,
on the library floor, among the pile of books.
I want you to know that I had you,
till the very last breathe that I breathed,
as the evening sky turned pink,
and the night fell upon us like every other day,
if tomorrow starts without me.

What a delightful entry to the challenge.π My favourite lines are: βRight there in that intrusive thought, in the air you breathe in, on the library floor, among the pile of books.β
Beautiful piece. Well done.
Great piece! I love the reassurance the narrator provides to the subject of the poem to help cut through intrusive thoughts!
Another unique take on the prompt, well done ππ»π€
