Holiday Reflections In Verse
Writer's Challenge
My poem here for the challenge entry I also put into a song. I hope you like it, please Subscribe to my You Tube Channel and make my day.
I sat alone in an empty room
Nostalgia a better view
Once the corners were filled with people
A meal cooking in the other room
It's a long way home to Christmas if even in my mind but this little light brings me closer to you
Candles flicker the greatest in the Christmas hour, in the Christmas hour the brightness reminds me of you
The flame gets stronger like it's waving a hello, flickers waving a hello, lighting up my memories
How I love you family even if you couldn't be there for us
Don't worry even the food bank forgot
How I love you fragrant sport
I dare you planned respite as if there was such a thing
It shone all day, all night long, this little light
A Christmas gift couldn't be sweeter when you're not here
A candle can be like a long-lost friend when on Christmas day
It's a long way home to Christmas if even in my mind but this little light brings me closer to you
It's a long way home to Christmas if even in my mind but this little light brings me closer to you because the candles flicker the greatest in the Christmas hour
A Christmas gift couldn't be sweeter when you're not here, with the light on all night long, with the night on all night long.
