The special sound of “forgive me”

Reverberates through my marrow

As your voice rings in my hollow chest

I have learned to live in my half self

With my half life in between half worlds

I have seen the land above the seam

Light piercing through the holes in my head

The people - oh!

The people oblivious to the light that sways

Above the their own holy heads below

You have taken me to see the land

Beneath the seam - nocturnal animals

Peck at my arms and legs as oak trees

I am half flesh

Half bone

Leave me with only holes
