Whale swallowed all, floating head over feet
Hand clutches his, and love replaced the sun
Water washes burns, thorough and complete
Fireplace set, a home is made and search done
Holding hands in bed, bare feet our ships bow
Animal this size, no wonder I fell
Feet no longer stink, underwater now
And yet my lungs fill and empty like shells
In your hands, our hands, all my hope connects
Dissolving, clutching light, like Jonah I
Your hands a vessel I must first inspect
Our heat warming sheets where we lie
The love in these hands could grow a son
Or daughter
Our love is deep, for me,
It's new water.
