HOLD SHIFT TO RUN
a poem

I hook a carrot to lead the ass
(I’m the ass in this example)
And do what I do until
Like Balaam’s
It talks back
Then think too much about what people think about me when they haven’t given one thought about me
Then it’s back to jingle jangle
Find shiny things to dangle
Stare at spinning mobile
And reassure myself that
Beam is cheaper than therapy

I really appreciated this;) clever, clever with deep anamolies!
Your honest reflection is both relatable and endearing. Remember, it's okay to feel this way sometimes. Focusing on the little joys and being kind to yourself can make a world of difference. Keep shining and finding those moments of happiness!
Congratulations on the Top Story. This poem was powerful.
Ooh, this is very good. I love the snappiness of each line, the loose rhyme scheme, the self-reflection bordering on self-hatred. Bravo! 👏🏻 👏🏻👏🏻
