Hold On Tight.
It’s Going To Be One Hell Of A Ride.

I wish someone had warned me
When I was but a girl
To hold on tight
To everything precious because
It’s going to be one hell of a ride.
You just don’t know
When something you love
Will be taken away so
Hold on tight.
I wish they would have warned me
How memories are fleeting.
I used to think
My mind was like a steel box.
Once something was committed
To my memory
It would be safe forever.
Maybe someone told me
And I just forgot
That memories are fleeting.
I wish I’d kept notes
Of all the precious moments,
People, events, successes, feelings.
I wish I would have listened
When I heard them say
Don’t hold onto anger, hurt or fear.
Time keeps moving on and
Those are moments that you’ll never get back.
Let that shit go.
Life is too precious.
So hold on tight.
It’s going to be one hell of a ride.
Love, faith, and confidence
Will help you sail
Over any bumps in the road.
This too shall pass.
Take notes.
Take pictures.
Hold on tight
To all that is precious
Because memories are fleeting.
