History Repeats Itself

I've seen war and I've seen pain.

I have chosen myself as I have never had an army with me to support me.

The moment I opened my heart, it was crushed.

I cannot stand by and watch it happen again.

I removed myself from the war and I have retreated to my side of the world, one that will not see that side of the fight again.

I am no coward, but I do know when it is not worth the energy to fight an endless battle.

There are no winners in war, just survivors that live with the permanent scars.
