“I fought so you might find yourself again…”
A haunting echo of an old friend
One I had slain
He said his peace,
Greeted death like it was victory
“I never forgot…”
“I never forgot…” anger ensued
“I never forgot!” Rage pulsating
“I never forgot!”
Releasing a primal scream
Before I could let go of him,
I whispered in his ear,
Gasping through tears…
“You taught me to be brave.
And courage brought the inevitable.
For I studied you, your guidance unveiling potential,
I never forgot,
I am and always will be,
The villain in everyone else's story.”
Poetry is simply diction strung together as I see fit.
