I woke to the birds calling, the clouds scudding,
The air was chilled, the summer passed.
It made me smile, my heart felt glad,
I had found my freedom, at long last.
The change was marked, the pressure gone,
I knew I had found my soul, I wasn't alone.
I wondered idly why my mind was slow,
It used to be so fast, always on the go.
Smiling it dawned on me, as a child I had always dreamt,
Adult pressures had flipped me ,
Shaped me into something not meant.
I wasn't broken, I didn't need to be fixed,
My mind had protected me,
So that in time , I could fly free.

I have come late to writing as I've had lots to do and no time to do it!
It's my time now so please be patient as I intend to practise, practise and practise......
