Who’s next?

As we pretend

our communities grow in strength,

we often find ourselves

mourning another loss—

someone’s beloved family,

someone’s closest friend.

The wind carries wickedness

across every terrain,

bringing with it

a heartbreak we never imagined.

More than ever,

tears soak pillows

under the weight of souls

gone too soon—

while the storm of devastation

only grows larger.

Fear now looms heavier than ever,

threatening our sense

of comfort and safety—

even when the danger

may live inside

the home of anyone’s family

or friend.

If we continue to ignore it,

we’ll see the true power

of chaos unfold—

and be left only wondering

how everything

turned to ruin.
