Hidden boxes

secrets

By Eldra Ramsey Published 6 years ago 1 min read

16 locks i placed on these boxes

Buried 6 feet under the dirt

Gift wrapped; taped just the same.

And somewhere in the ocean lays the keys,

Iv'e decided id throw away.

Above it iv'e planted theses flowers.

Must have been there to long....

Cracks revealing the things id promised myself id keep secret.

Broken boxes;

Insecurities, jumping from the concrete.

I promised never to speak of the things iv'e left behind

But now....

Water drops from cheeks forming oceans,

So i went swimming.

Found these keys i can ensure i wasn't looking for in the first place.

I start building.

2 more pad locks

3 more feet under the dirt theses boxes go.

I was sure now they be secure.

But just in the mist something went wrong.

Little boxes,

Becoming big boxes.

Big boxes putting holes in this new foundation.

New foundations built on secrets,

And these secrets holding me back.

And these secrets mmmmm.

sad poetry
