Hey Dad

It's me, Dad.

By Kristin ElderPublished 8 years ago 1 min read

Hey dad

It’s me dad

Just wanted to tell you

That I miss you bad

I’m lonely here without you

Reminiscing about all I’ve been through

When my life feels like a song on queue

I’ve had to begin life anew

Like learning to walk again

Living life within that tiny margin

trying to cope without you

has been one of the toughest things I’ll ever do

anger, sadness, hurt and guilt

my life without you is one I’ve rebuilt

losing you made me sit and think

about the time where you and I were in sync

looking into the eyes of your killer

living a life that’s full of filler

with nothing of substance

just fighting for justice

I will never forget

Like the words on your favorite cassette

You were my rock and friend

And I know I’ll see you in the end

So for now

Somehow

I’ll take a bow

And say

Hey dad

It’s me dad

Just wanted to say

That I miss you bad

sad poetry
