here

there's an egg roll

that tastes like childhood

and what children have we become

laughter fills the leaves

of our garden

and we are digging deeper

rooted in the clay

safety in its expansion

the land holds its breath

with us now

than we ever

have before

i am cracked open

my love,

vulnerable as we grow

around each other

beyond each other

because of each other

and the green of our saplings

are hardening to brown

the birds sing back to us

my love,

hey you

in the morning

the koel pierces through

exhaustion

telling us we will get through

another day

that so very new

tired

my love,

as we hold each other

and let out this breath

when the breeze

is cool in Bangkok

and the storms are

memory

we winter

amongst

all this new growth

love poems
