Here it is Again!

Between the weight and the whisper of hope.

By Chamu GonellaPublished 3 months ago 1 min read
The storm returns and so does the will to rise.

Here it is again —

Thunder, thunder —

around me, within me.

I can’t distinguish

the thumbing heart

from the rolling droplets

not yet ready to fill.

Lingering on to hope,

yet despair takes the triumph.

Like a phoenix, I try to rise —

yet the weight,

the weight drags me down.

Did gravity win,

or my questionable needs?

Desperately, I look toward the future

with a candle’s light,

but still, the darkness wins.

Blame me for being desperate,

blame me for being anxious —

the search an infinite loop

with no answer yet.

Going on, and on, and on…

the myth of brightness fades,

yet somehow,

the myth of brightness

still gives me source.

And on, and on, and on…

The storm returns — and so does the will to rise.
