Here I Stand

Here I stand, a year gone by,

Knocked down, but this time, I rise.

Stronger now, with every stride,

The chains that bound me start to slide.

Growth is here, though hard it came,

Sacrifice and struggle in the same.

Bit by bit, I’m breaking free,

Marking my path, finding me.

I share this truth, not to overshare,

But to show you that life’s not always fair.

Behind the screen, the truth we hide,

Struggles, tears, we all collide.

Social media paints a perfect dream,

But life is real, raw, it seems.

I choose to be authentic, through and through,

Because someone out there needs this too.
