Her Wonderland
Poetry on Daring to Chase One's Dreams
This is for Ellie Hoov's Wonderland challenge and Vocal's I Didn't Say It Out Loud Challenge.
Speak your dreams aloud-and chase them.

She saw a place where time stood still,
The teacups danced, were always filled,
A better land than hers before
Goodbye to Real, this she explored

She danced with the spirits in the fields
Tasted joy their steps would yield
The wide-eyed cats begged, "Please return."
But she chose to watch her world's slow turn.

The cats' smiles faded, washed away,
They went in- refused to play
didn't chase her dream, put that on pause
Instead spoke aloud its flaws
ππΌπ©π΅πβ°ππππ°οΈππΌπ©π΅πβ°ππππ°οΈ
But she named them Joy. For her, they pleased-
So her dreams stayed that, and brought no peace
For within her lay, a hidden key
To a soul encaged, none dared to see.

I love your poem. I too get lost inside the meandering pathways in my mind. They're rich and lush... real life's interference can be so drab after that.
Well-wrought! Dreams and reality merge sometimes, but where the lines are thin there seems to always be a struggle.
