Her

I lost her

Francesca Woodman, Self Portrait

Her

I lost her

The girl that laughed and smelled the flowers,

The girl that drew in the beauty of every day,

The girl that just wanted to live life to the fullest.

I lost her

The woman, who was embodying what she wanted,

The woman, that stood up for everything she believed,

The woman, whom’s desires were met first.

I lost her

She became an us,

She compromised,

She loved them.

I lost her

She paused for the new life and child,

She paused to move them forward,

She loved them.

I lost her

In the mirror, I look for her,

In my walk, I try to feel her,

In my very breath, I want to speak for her.

She is not lost

She is sleeping,

I will wake her,

I will reveal her.

She is not lost

She needed to rest,

She needed to step back, and observe,

She needed a new perspective, to make a new path.

She is not lost

She is wiser,

She is striving for balance,

She is discovering herself, again.

She is not lost,

I see her,

I feel her,

I hear her.

I found her, she was not lost, she had transformed.
