Her Memories
A gift filled with light and dark.

Memories''' nostalgic are the colors which they bring...
The joy and pain of a life, hopefully''' well lived
A mother asked to tell her story''' yet
Is every story a happy story
Or are they fraught with joy--pain and loss
Such were her thoughts...when
Her son gifted her this book''' a few today's ago
Requesting to hear her story
She read a few of the pages
then sat quite still
Pen poised'''
And all the years came tumbling''' like a great mountain
Knocking her to the metaphoric ground
She could not understand'''
why the past felt so weighted
As if it just wanted to be forgotten
She could not write a single word
So, she placed the book upon the shelf
Foe even the great, the wonderful memorie'd moments....
....hurt
in a whimsical, surreal and utterly surprising way...
But, he kept asking "are you done yet".
So she began

How...
To speak of the year that she was born.
Now that would just give her age away...sorry readers...but nope! Not for your eyes.

To speak of the teenage years.
Oh heck no. Is he serious!!!

Please forgive the handwriting. Her pen-woman-ship is kind of like her personality''' wonky at best.

Dream vacation.

She could share all the pages
But who knows how long it will be
Before courage and a filled-up heart
Finally spills over onto the pages
And a life once buried deep within the subconscious
Finally takes wings
And FLIES!!!!
