Her Comfort

I never really understood

Why you always stayed quiet

You kept telling me that it

Was because you didn't see

I never quite got

Why you told me things were ok

While I had my world

Confused til I couldn't breathe

You told me you loved me

That we would be friends

That you'd made mistakes

And that's where it would end

I was the fool who did not realize

Saying you only told truths

Was the first of the lies

That you'd always had priorities

That didn't quite include me

That you'd always choose her comfort

Over my safety

heartbreak
