Her & Us.

Her beaming skin makes stars envy.

Her playing tongue makes words shy.

She is a thief who steals sorrows.

She is a judge who sentences joy.

Like Winter in the bedroom, she snows curves.

Like summer in the heart, she steams feelings.

Like Monsoon in eyes, she storms warmth.

Her presence teaches life to grow.

Her absence craves memories plow.

She is everywhere when unwanted.

She is nowhere when I wanted.

Like Halloween in body, she tricks lust.

Like Barranquilla Carnival in the mind, she parades excitement.

Like Xmas in life, she gifts desire for her soul.

Like thick smoke after July 4th, we drift.

Like magical Santa after December, we end.

For the Colombiana brew that I never tasted.

From the Indian Chai that she never caressed.
