Hello, old friend

A Spoken Warning from the Edge of Feeling

By Sinesipho DinizuluPublished 7 months ago 1 min read
Lived experience disguised as poetry.

Hello, old friend.

I really appreciate your presence.

This is to what found my pen

I had lost it for years.

Never knew I would find it again.

Never knew I’d bleed on it once more.

butterflies in my stomach

for something that was once

too quiet to name.

It’s making me feel again.

And all these feelings…

they don’t come gently.

They arrive at once

loud, layered, unstoppable..

And now this pen

this friend

is writing where silence used to sit

It’s making me feel again.

I write one word

and it opens a door

I didn’t even know was locked.

And yet

I keep going.

Because maybe,

if I keep walking,

I’ll find the girl who buried her voice.

And maybe this time,

I’ll stay long enough

to listen to her.

Dear reader

Sit quietly do not judge

This time it will come straight from the horses mouth.
