She said "we've got to get out of here"

I've had that conversation with myself

No more wishing and waiting

I want the chance to be somebody else

I say "okay" with nothing to prove

I know I'm not your only one, but I can't be me without you

Maybe I'm hellbent on making myself cry

Maybe her heart doesn't beat along with mine

I'm hellbent on her all of the time

"I said "tell me all of your fears"

I've seen the determination on her face

"I'm not able to love you"

But I'll try to for now and then and always

I said "okay" holding in the tears

I will always call out your name, even when I know you can't hear

Maybe I'm hellbent on making myself cry

Maybe her heart doesn't beat along with mine

I'm hellbent on her all of the time

sad poetry
