Childhood magic that enchants the day.

Snowfall amazement that enhances the night.

Early-morning hot-cocoa and

Pits of laughter with play.

*

Inches of powder and layers of clothing,

A small clump of snow turned large.

Two additional parts for the body

and an arsenal of snowball weaponry.

*

A battlefield of artillery and long-shot scopes.

Brick walls of frozen water and

Timeless tossing all day.

Many join and few make it home.

*

A swarm of fleet surrounding in,

A flock of fury pouring about.

But now we're all tired and worn out,

So we end the fight and go inside.
