Heaven’s Visitor
Just This Once

The Lord allowed me just this time
To infiltrate your dream
Although you’ll find this dream sublime
It is as it would seem
Tomorrow you will see its worth
As you remember this
That kiss goodbye my day of birth
Mom, I recall that kiss
Don’t blame yourself because I died
You couldn’t have done more
Your heartache must be put aside
It’s what I’m sent here for
For hearts to mend, one must aspire
You must resolve to fight
Those shadows in your heart require
The presence of a light
God saw your sorrow, felt your pain
And sent me here to you
The inner peace you will attain
Is surely overdue
Your bitterness towards the Lord
It has you feeling torn
He knew you’d be completely floored
To have a child still-born
So trust in God for heaven’s sake
I’m where I’m meant to be
You’ll notice Mom, when you awake
You won’t be sad for me
And by-the-way, your Daddy’s here
I told him you’re asleep
He said to say, “I love you dear
This bond we have, we’ll keep”
Don’t worry Mom, I’m doing well
In heaven I am “grown”
You’ll waken to a pleasant smell
My presence will be known
You gently held my tiny thumbs
Last time I had to go
But this time when the morning comes
You’ll be at peace, I know
