Heaven or Miami?

Choose

By Kristen Keenon FisherPublished about a month ago Updated about a month ago 1 min read

Summer,

loses its heat for you like a distracted lover,

A star entranced by the cold glow of the moon.

Only to return after finding out the greener grass was artificial

Can't it see the whole world painted around you?

You rise,

And there's nothing quite like you today.

Spread out you are infinite. Birthplace of all things.

Heaven's beyond your event horizon.

Color is love as you describe it.

You deserve a faithful climate.

One that doesn't change for every,

Solstice and Equinox with bright flowers or fake grass.

One that's true in every season.

One that understands you like the soft breeze all year round.

One that's always bright when it sees you,

But gives you shade when you need space.

One that doesn't need a forecast,

to show up for you the way it should.

Sometimes I find it hard to choose.

Sometimes it's obvious.

But today you look so radiant,

I think I'd take the sky's view,

over the view of the sky.
