when the sun sheens down over me,

i don’t pick up that Heaven’s shine.

is there anything there to see?

i would be shocked if there would be

a shadow cast that you could find

when the sun sheens down over me.

in summer winds i saw your glee

and wondered if i’d catch your eye.

is there anything there to see?

in summer winds i should be free,

but vacant thoughts make tighter binds

when the sun sheens down over me.

and so i walk into the sea,

and you will think, looking behind,

“is there anything there to see?”

under the sun I cannot be,

because heaven is in my mind.

is there anything there to see

when the sun sheens down over me?
