Painted on you, in you, carved, like a heart pressed into the printmaker's
Palm lies a desperate creator, blessed with oils of thyme, vin rouge, doused
With furious, blood rare, stains
Swallowed whole, a steamy concoction for quick relief, from the stranger
Dancing inside us
Wailing, splashing, breaking us all into bits, shouting as crystal shatters,
Chaos delights in us,
Striking across our souls which we are forever bound to
A feast deeper than need, a calling unlike that of any God, pushing
Ink to weathered paper, fingers gnarled, curled around pens, brushes, even
Smothered in clay
Gnawing hunger, thirsts never quenched, our beast at best is the ejaculated
Artisan who stands relieved, just for a short breath in awe of what came
From the fight within

The maelstrom of creation captured and penned.
Gorgeous writing!!
Somehow I recognize this beast. Rock, this was so incredibly done
Each of the lines were elegant and layered with a deep depth of meaning. So very well done
The flame of creation burns with almost terrifying intensity in this poem, ROCK! Incredible writing!
Oh wow, this was so intense and emotional. I freaking loved it!
Beautiful and very thought evoking.
Well-wrought! Very conceptually accurate description of the seminal drive to and act of creation. A sort of madness, I find, but which, when engaged with a pure heart, sets us free.
This was difficult but powerful to read. The passionate dualism of the artisan as agent and victim of the drive to create ... the clash of chaos and delight that both breaks and indelibly imprints us. Your poem could be the anthem of every artist who has gone mad. "In awe of what came / From the fight within" ... I am in awe!
Oh I loved this!! The urgency and struggle in this sucked me in. What a fantastic poem!
I have mixed feelings about this. Hope you are well.
just love it superb work 😊
Sounds like a monster lurks in shadows here. Sad, chaotic and nostalgic. Be well.
powerful words for the difficulties that we have to face
