Heartmelter

Wherever is home, is family

By Addison AlderPublished about a year ago β€’ Updated about a year ago β€’ 1 min read

Icy lover,

Let my tongue tip stick.

Can we adhere?

Your blue moue.

Cerulean craquelure.

Skis kiss.

Lips lisp.

Raw warm maw.

On my bicycle,

You're a side-saddle icicle.

Breezing downslope navigation.

Slaloming gelid puddles.

Snowcone nose

Nuzzles my naked nape.

Freon fingers circulation

Apply midriff refrigeration.

Arctic encircle,

Frozen waist.

Until porch and door necessitate

That bodily we separate.

Our heated rooms, orange hued.

Cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom.

Gather pillows, blankets, eiderdown.

Before the iron hearth I make our nest.

Crack the flume

Oxygenate flame

I jump on you

Ice-encrusted trampoline.

Shatter your cobalt carapace.

Rampant tongues

Of flame, upon the glazen brazier.

The furnace breathes and heaves.

Flurries of squalling, golden sparks.

Condensate we meet.

Heart melter.

Soul dissolver.

Adhere to me.

First frost, endless kiss.

Here, start we our family

Before this beating hearth.

This was a tough one, really. But, I love the wordplay and artistry of this one a little more than the slayfest that is Dead Dog Days. I shall use this one for the anthology, if that's okay with you, sir? Thank you for taking part and submitting stuff. I will be posting an update soon about the next stage and what is required etc.

This is like a smogasboard of some of my favourite words, Addison. I love the creativity, uniqueness and word combinations that really make you pause and think for the deeper meaning. Well done sir and a great submission to the book! Thank you!

This was such an interesting image I had to stop a moment and turn it around in my mind to imagine it. "Cerulean craquelure."
