Heart of Thorns
A rose to hurt one’s heart by its thorns

Heart of Thorns
My heart lived on,
through storms and cuts,
through sweet red blooms,
and broken roots.
It never asked why,
it simply beat,
carving truth
through every vein.
Love was heavy,
a twisting vine,
pulling tight,
pulling deep.
I walked with care,
holding the ache,
letting it teach
its quiet lessons.
Some roses heal,
some roses bleed,
some roses grow
because of pain.
And here I stand,
heart open still,
a little torn,
yet fiercely alive.

This is quite the heartfelt poem and learning to understand what is important.
