"Heart" & "Me"

The Pulse of Dual Affections

By Ravi DPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Me: Yo, check it. I'm caught between two worlds, you feel me?

Heart: What's good? Lay it on me.

Me: On one side, I got this rock-solid love, you know?

It's like coming home after a long day,

Kicking off your shoes, letting your guard down.

Heart: And on the other side?

Me: It's that fire, that spark

That makes your pulse quicken, your palms sweat

Like you're about to jump off a cliff, but in a good way.

Heart: So what's the deal? Why are you torn?

Me: 'Cause one's my anchor, keeping me steady

When the world's spinning too fast

They see all my mess and still say, "I got you."

Heart: And the other?

Me: They're the rollercoaster I can't resist

The thrill of the unknown, that electric feeling

When your eyes meet across a crowded room.

Heart: Sounds complicated.

Me: Yeah, but it's real, you know?

It's like, one love keeps me grounded

The other makes me feel like I can fly

And somehow, in this crazy mix

I'm more me than I've ever been.

Heart: So what now?

Me: Now? I embrace it all

The safety and the danger

The known and the mystery

'Cause that's life, right?

A beautiful mess of contradictions.

Heart: Preach.
