I am hoping that this will help mend

I really don't want to offend

But can you see as a person, as a friend.

Please, take the time to comprehend

When you walk into a room,

Do you always just assume?

Or do you take the time to think

And find the missing link

You hear one person chatting to another and they say

Something that may make your mind sway

You don't hear the next person what they say

But you hear laughs of joy and that’s okay.

You hear what you want to hear

People can do this all the time

Sometimes it only takes one time

For the conversation to become abstract

For someone else over hearing this may cause them to react

In my mind the conversation might have been to help me to unwind.

But maybe to someone else this conversation is unkind

Maybe to even cause a bit of dismay

Or to make someone’s opinion to sway

But this is all just hear say.

As everyone else talks

You end up walking away
