Your words stack up like a barricade

against the small fortress of esteem I made

from the few good days.

They smash into me like a tidal wave,

bending me 'til I want to break.

When you don't understand me, you refuse to love me,

and I can't breathe,

drowning in conditionality.

I gave you my heart for free,

Now you're holding it hostage - you're the enemy.

and I want to destroy me for you,

so you can no longer use me.

Would there be silence from you then?

Would you still be all about the win?

Or would you engrave crazy on my headstone

while you polish up your own?
