Heading Home

I’m heading back,

to a place I call home.

A place many may dread,

but it’s where I belong!

that brings out only the best in me!

A place where flowers and trees bloom,

and lakes and rivers flow free!

My home is a place of love,

with colorful faces - it’s very diverse.

Where you can feel blessed,

and every day is a new birth.

My home is a city,

that’s not for the shy at heart!

I’ve left many times,

but with my home - I will never part!

This land is a special place,

it brings comfort to my spirit.

I can’t describe it with mere words,

on your own you have to experience it!

I love the four seasons it has,

although some years it seems like two.

I especially love the fall and winter, t

he crisp air rejuvenates you!

The trees change to beautiful colors,

it is a beauty that definitely inspires.

Then the winter brings frigid cold, f

or you to cuddle by a warm fire.

Everything about my home,

motivates many to create.

Whether it’s singing, writing, playing sports,

building or mother’s baking cakes.

Yes - my journey to other lands,

have been fun and lasted too long!

It’s time to get back to a place that inspires,
