A man refused to budge for the King.
"Bow," he said, "I own everything."
The man stood firm, not moving.
Storms came, kings fell, time flew.
The kingdom fell fast.
The man remained---
Unyielding--
Never
moved.

I like that you chose a nonet to tell this story. The diminishing lines really emphasize the fact that he stands alone while the kingdom falls.
