He is Risen
But We Haven't Rose

He is risen
The reason we need to drop these chains
Drop these limits
He is risen
But when we want to do good
Evil is always present
Truth is
We’re not where We want to be
we sit high on pride
Hoping no one can detect
The false humility
So many layers of pain to unwrap
Physical scars may fade
But emotional scars can well scar you for life
And Everytime we think we are past the unbearable
It sneaks up on us like fire with no alarm
Trying to Change The person in the mirror
Creates barriers
Silly us
to think
We can set our own selves free
He is risen
But we haven’t rose
Shame is the reason for these chains
We believe it has claims
We’re buried deep in our sins
It keeps calling for us to stay in
A point of no return
And we’ve learned
To mask the obvious
Because it’s obvious
The mask reflects roots
That need to be pulled
We somehow pulled the wool over our own eyes
Never considering how sick the heart is
Although red blood pumps from it
The red blood shed from him
is incomparable
And if we know this to be true
Why are we bound
Why are we dismissing the holes in his hands and feet as if becoming whole is defeat
Our enslaved mentality has proven to discount what we believe
truth is waiting to reign
It lingered far too long
Trying to take root in a belief system That’s comfortably limited
Until truth is anchored in our souls
We will stay in this condition
Lifeless
Officially
the walking dead
But hope is never to far away
It rises up pulling our heartstrings
Reminding us that there is a high priest who empathizes with our weaknesses
Who’s love can surpass the ugliest sins
Who showed us how to be limitless
Who said
it
is
finished
And when we are able to rest in this and in him
we can boldly proclaim
freedom
